Overview
A game rooted in place and culture
Chalan Che'lu Mart is a top-down pixel art game that puts players behind the counter of a small neighborhood store on Guam. Inspired by the sari-sari stores found across the Pacific islands, the game blends casual management mechanics with cultural storytelling.
Every visual element — from the tile sets to the character sprites — was hand-drawn in Procreate and animated in Godot. The project was as much an exercise in illustration and world-building as it was in game design.
